You can't. I work at a dealership and get asked about this all the time. We tell people, if you choose to not wear your seat belt, I don't know why you wouldn't wear your seat belt, to just wrap the seat belt around the back of the seat and latch it. It'll shut off the light and buzzer.

Cut off the male part and just insert that into the female part. Have fun trying to stay in the human gene pool with your seat belt off.

there is a way to shut off the bell. i will post two different plays on the proceedure.
1.buckle the belt without the key in
2.insert key turn it on but dont start engine
3.wait till the seat belt light turns off
4.unbuckle and buckle the belt 3 times.
5.leave the belt buckled
6.turn key off and you should hear a chime if not start over and add a buckle unbckel cycle each time you try.

a different method some say work
1.turn on key without starting the engine and with belt unbuckled.
2.buckle and unbuckle till you hear a chime.
this allows the chime to ding at start up then the light comes on but no chime.

there is a duscussion of this on the dodgrboy.com site under 2004 durango.

Personally I'd just wear the darn thing. Safer that way.

Or you can go to the dealership and have them turn it off. That's what i did when i had the tilt side mirrors activated on my Limited.
