View Full Version : New O8' Avenger
ironside68 03-30-2007, 02:55 PM I just bought a new Avenger about a week ago. It replaced an 01' Neon. Black SXTwith 18" alloys, V6 auto etc.(1,000 miles already) So far a very nice car. Much roomier and rides nicer than the Neon. I like the power from the 6 and am getting about 28.5mpg highway here in Michigan with cruise at 80. Only complaint is it needs a bit more foot room for size 12's. Defintely this over the Neon anyday.
Great forum by the way!! I only buy MOPAR!
ramchrgr88 03-30-2007, 04:45 PM glad to hear you like...i go in to pick up my r/t sometime next week...i cant wait
Barry626 03-30-2007, 06:55 PM Lots of luck with yiour new ride!

I ordered my R/T AWD 3/28 should have 2nd week of May?
ramchrgr88 03-31-2007, 02:16 AM How did you manage that, the AWD isn't being released until July. At least that what they have been telling me.

I asked the Manager very same question...
He said Dodge recently released go ahead for production of AWD.
Also release of MyGIG radio/ Navigation that I ordered too.
If not? no loss for me as I still have my car that I plan to trade in.
ramchrgr88 03-31-2007, 07:30 PM Thats pretty cool. The MyGig has been out for a while tho, it was offered to start

Excellent: Glad to hear this.
Planning to check with Dealer again Monday to be sure on AWD?
Any chance there are other more active forums on the 08 Avenger?
ramchrgr88 04-01-2007, 01:51 PM I havent seen any of them that get used, and this one hardly get used either...if you find any, post them up here

Will do!
Might be a blessing that there's not to many forums "threads" on the new Avenger?
All my newcars in pass people on various forums have ways of making u feel like crap what u buy.
Especially bad is...BMW forums.
ramchrgr88 04-01-2007, 08:41 PM i agree completely. but i think a lot of that has to do with the fact that people are just plain jealous about that sometimes. if they do not have it, then it sucks. screw them, do what you want to!
mkaresh 04-22-2007, 09:45 PM The only thing I'd pay attention to before taking delivery of the AWD is whether the steering and suspension works for you. I drove the FWD R/T and liked the steering and handling pretty well, definitely didn't feel like a rental. But for the AWD they're not using the tighter steering and sport suspension of the FWD R/T, no idea why.
I'm not saying the results will be bad, just that you should be aware of this difference.

May I ask where your getting your info from?
I just saw & read where u got info from.
I can assure you that they are misinformed.
All press release info from Dodge states the following...
Available all-wheel-drive, sport suspension and performance steering accentuate Avenger’s on-road attitude
mkaresh 04-24-2007, 12:58 AM The brochure. "Firm feel" steering and "sport" suspension are only checked off for the regular R/T. The AWD gets the "touring" suspension and the regular steering.
The release you cite implied the features would all be available on the same car, when this does not appear to actually be the case. They are all available on the Avenger, just not all on the same Avenger.

I actually hope your correct?
After owning my 07 BMW tired of the Sport suspension.
Every time I hit a pot hole my fillings are about to fall out.
Then again most likely the stupid runflats?
I much rather a softer ride! after all I don't consider a Avenger a Sports car anyway!

I see what your talking about & glad u pointed this out to me.
I will be taking yoiur advice when my car comes in.
I plan to take it for nice long ride before I sign any papers!
Good thing is I see it has the ESP "Electronic Stability Program".
Which is number one thing I expect in a car & never will buy one without it!
