I have an 01 3.9 QC 2WD with factory 255 65 16's. I am looking for the most aggressive tread I can get for winter/off road. I would like a bit taller tire (I know speedo will be off) Will 265 70 16's rub? Should I stick with 255 65's? Suggestions?

Thanks,

Carl-

I don't know much about the off Road type tire.... but

When i had the 16's on my truck I replaced the stock tires with the Toyo Proxes. They were AWESOME

They looked mean and did well on wet roads. Not real sure how they would do with snow since i live in Florida

Go to www.toyo.com and check out the tires and ratings they have

I definitely recommend the brand!

I did go a little bigger with the tire size.
If I remember correctly i went with a 275 65R16

Might have been 275/60R16 ...... can't really remember :)   But im positive that they wont rub... as long as you dont drop your truck

I dropped mine and the tires rubbed in the front.. .but i dont think you will be dropping yours anytime soon if you want offroad winter tires

I hope this helps you just a little......  If you havent already figured out what you want

Those are excellent tires, but I would not recommend them for winter at all, or off-road either for that matter. They are high performance tires and I am sure they are excellent in Florida.  I dont have a good recommendation for you, however.

it's not so much if the tires would rub or not. you need to look at rim width. the wider and taller tires you want to put on your truck may require a wider rim than what is currently on your truck. or you might want to try calling or e-mailing a company called tire rack. their web site is www.tirerack.com . that is also a good place to buy tires at a really good price.
