A week ago I'd taken my 04 SLT back to the dealer and told them it veers to the right...they checked it and said it was "within specs". I assume they checked the alignment. We'll, we took a trip yesterday...did about 250 miles on the Durango. On the highway, with the steering wheel at dead center, it does certainly still veer right, so much that you have to just pull the steering wheel a touch down on the left side to keep it straight. What could this be beyond alignment? It's only got 500 miles on it and I think it's been the same since I noticed it the day after I got it home.
In addition, I noticed after getting the veh up to about 70-80mph, the steering wheel tends to vibrate a little bit..is this normal? Could this be due to the "veering" issue? Or, tires?

You said "They Checked it", did they actually get in and drive it, or did they hook it up to a mechine? Did you take it back to the dealer after the trip?
Vibrating steering wheel can be caused by tires, shocks, steering misalignment, and some other things too. Hard to say without driving it.

yup, and alignment specs are a range of allowable figures. It's not a "This is exactly correct" sort of thing, unless you tell them exactly what alignment specs you want to use.
Alot of times a radial pull will cause you to veer. Have a tire shop do a high speed balance of your tires. Most than likely a simple tire rotation will stop you pulling and a quick balance will end the vibrations. Most tires that come in from the factory are off in terms of balancing and alignments.

I have the same problem/issue with my 04' Limited. Took it in one day and they said that nothing was wrong. They mentioned to me that this could be a safety feature like if you fall asleep, you swerve to the right, away from traffic as opposed to swerving to the left to oncoming traffic. I thought it was bull**** at first but i test drove a brand new explorer and my friend's civic and they both move to the right as well. So I thought it might be possible. I might be wrong tho. let me know!

They told me the same thing about a Caravan I owned. I had the head guy from the Southeast division and two guys from the dealership. After he said that to me, I told him this: I rented a van last week when my van was being fixed. It pulled to the left. Was that the Kevorkian model?
They took the van in and changed the tires and properly aligned it. It went straight as an arrow after that.
