I have a very limited budget...and an old car. It is very frustrating to drive because it will not stay idling. It stalls constantly. I have to keep the RPM's rev'd up to 20-25 in order for it not to stall. Any ideas on what would cause this? It starts fine, and runs fine when in gear....just won't stay idling. HELP!

Check all your vacuum lines and check the PCM for codes.

remove the throttle body and take out the IAC motor. it has a cone shaped end on it. if carbon gets on it it will not seat correctly and cause all sorts of weird idle problems. just get an throttle body gasket and a couple cans of good carb cleaner and go to town on it.
