Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and first off wanna say hi.

I drive a 2005 3.7 4x4 Club Cab. It came with 245/70R16 Goodyear P.O.S.'s

Does anyone know how large of a tire I can put on my 16x7 wheels without rubbing or turning my v6 into more of a dog?? I don't intend to level it out or lift it. I'm keeping it all stock.

Also, does anyone ride on General Grabbers?? I like the BF Goodrich All-Terrains, but the Generals are way cheaper...any thoughts?

Well, the largest I would go on stock right height is a 265/70/16 or one right around there. That's what I have on mine and they fill out the wheel wells nicely. You should be able to get those on a 16x7 rim.

As far as the General's go, I haven't heard anything bad about them. I've heard they do pretty decent off-road until you get into the mud and harder stuff. I've also heard that they are great in the rain and snow.

You should also check out the Pathfinder ATR A/S for a decent tire at a lower price. Sorry for the bad picture but it's all I got.

I'm still waiting for somebody to chime in on the General Grabber AT2s with some good remarks....  The next set of tires I get will probably be those because they're pretty cheap, but I do love those BFGs, but DAMN are they pricey...

I found those General Grabber UHP's sport/street summer tires for like 80 bucks a tire plus a total of 75 for shipping

I just bought a set of Grabber at2's 305/70/16 with m/t classic II's. Good looking tires with lots of tread. Nice driving tire. Replaced shocks with KYB Monomax's $200. Drives like a new truck with 124000 miles. Only a few miles on them so far. They really look great with the wheels. I will try to post pics later in the wheel and tire forum. I'm not sure what the break down in cost was. I just told the guy what I wanted. $1450 for everything. Another tire dealer quoted $190 each for tire.

The Tire I like best is the BFG 275/70/16 AT KOs. But they are pricey, however IMO you have to live with what ever you buy for several years or 30,000 to 50,000 miles anyway, so an extra couple hundred bucks to get what I want is worth it to me.

I will say the tires, that tire mfgs make for the auto mfgs are not the same as the ones they typically offer as replacements, there are much better tires that the tire mfgs offer as replacements. I have several 06-07'1/2 ton GM trucks in my business fleet that came with generals from the factory and not one set has lasted more than 30k, and all my employees have been complaining about flats with them. The old Goodyear SRA's that GM use to use were a little bit better, we could typically squeez close to 40k out of those SRA's. That said I have had pretty good luck with Goodyear silent armors and BFG long trails on my fleet trucks. What I am saying is not all Goodyears are like the OEMs. I sure the same would go for Genneral as well. I think in part we as consummers can expect worse tires to come on our trucks in the future do to the fed fuel economy standards. I am sure that is in part why so many mfgs have gone to such cheap ultra light weight tires, in effort to improve there fuel economy ratings by reducing the rotating mass via the ultra light tires.
