Well guys we didnt win any money or a trophy but came home with some consistant times. Here are a couple pics of a burnout hope someone enjoys them, I will post pics of the time slips soon. The 14.6 was the best time but ended up with a 14.7 14.8 and 14.7 the last run we got out of it to try and average 15.00 secs when I post time slips you have to pay attention to the mph.  If anyone is interested in more detail let me know and I will tell but im not going to type a bunch of stuff if nobody cares.

Really like the pics! That burnout one looks mean! Do you have a nice copy of just the burnout pic? If you do, would you email it to me? That would make a good screen saver pic to go with the rest.

Im only 19 and happy to say Im addicted to the ancient art of "turbododges" :-P My only regret is that its not 2009 so I can get rid of that pesky Catalytic Converter! :-) (and I will be the first to admit I DO NOT know a whole lot about the TD's as I drove a mildly modified 97 neon for the longest time. ahh...my second love. :-) MOPAR4LIFE hehe ok Ill stop ranting and get on with it now...

1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby 2.2L Turbocharged & intercooled

-Stock Garret T03 Turbocharger 13psi, spiking boost cut thanks to straight pipe :-(

-Stock FMIC

-2.2L Turbo Mazerati internals (as told was rebuilt by previous owner)

-Custom short ram intake (cut up APC CAI off of 2.0 97 SOHC Neon)

-DSM stock BOV mounted on 2.5" pipe

Muffler delete (running cat-back no muffler)

Lighter Motegi MR-7 15x6.5" rear wheels (got them free, didnt want to sacrafice 7" fronts as it already spins hard)

A-555 Trans-currently looking for a new one! 3rd gear syncro took a dummp!

Hopefully will be dyno'd on Sunday, will post slip if this happens.

Electric blue, under 80k mi. Smokes my friends cars: V6 3.0 Eclipse, Acura Integra (newer but not really the sports model) and a pesky lead foot IROC Camaro.

OLD PIC OF ENGINE BAY, SOME PARTS HAVE BEEN REPAINTED/REPLACED

Thats a nice looking daytona, I really like that blue. Is this your first Turbododge? I dont know if you know of this site, http://www.thedodgegarage.com But its like the TD bible, if you havent been there read it, learn it! These cars can be made quite fast for really cheap. PM me for some more tips.
Keep up the good work!

I guess I better post a pic or two...

That last one is the new "built" lol motor going in, and the pipe to the side is from doing some mock up for the intercooler pipe. Details on all that in the links in my sig.

Oh yes, bottle. I believe our last run on friday was in the 18's, we found the nos solenoid wasn't opening but the fuel was, so we were running an xtra injector making it too rich. Saturday was a good day though. The next thing we are going to do is see if we can tell if we got hosed on the converter. I don't recall what year caravan but its computer is better than the stock daytona one it has to have different fuel curves and such. I want to find a 58mm throttle body and the computer that goes with that model caravan. If anyone has one let me know.

i still cant believe that....i mean a 14.6 isnt a bad time but on the bottle it is.  I know even brent was breaking into high 14s on basic bolt ons. It just does not make any sense to me why you arent running mid to low 14s at least with that big shot of nos and the bolt ons you have.

Well lets see what has he done (brent??) to his car?  We have done 0 weight reduction what tire size is he running, is he running street tires, dot slicks, slicks? Has it even been to the track?  Not to get pissy but why dont you offer some constructive critism instead of just saying its slow with the bottle, maybe he has something we dont and havent thought of it. I am the only one that talks about racing one of theses and posts pics to prove it.

Whoa calm down first....im not dissing you at all....im just sort of puzzled.  Brent honestly if i remember right which at the time it was in his spirit....had little to no weight reduction. It wasnt the first time to the track either.....he started in the 15s/16s then worked his way down. What is killing your times in my opinion is the auto.  To pull a 14.6 is still nothing to be ashamed of at all.  Im just trying to figure out here if something is holding you back besides the rev limiter.

Cant find my 14.8 slip, just 14.9's....or ANY slips from before 2005 (when I had raced the car as an auto) Spirit, 2950# race weight 4speed auto trans in 2002..Sea level that car ran 16.1 with 52mm tb and NO mods on 4 speed auto @ low 80mph. Removed exhaust after cat and it ran 15.48@87.99 on the auto trans. My friend josh simon (who has the fastest n/a 3.0 without crazy mods 14.2@97ran the same)had his spirit run 16.1's@82mph with 52mm tb and some better 60's on a 3 speed auto so I dont see a big difference between the transmissions at this performance level.
After race season I went ported plenum, 58mm TB, full 3" exhaust.
Swaped to a 5 speed trans with fidanza aluminum flywheel in the spirit and 1 week later....
Out of town for 2 years
Back for 2005 race season. I race all season at high altitude with the 5 speed trans and the new mods.
Visited my parents for 2 weeks back at sea level. All my traps were 91-92mph and 14.8-14.9 with 2.2 60's on all season tires and suspension mods.
Turbocharged the car and ran 13.9@101.89mph on 5psi boost, same street tires but only 2.3 60'

The only numbers that we are really "bugging" about are the trap speeds. They are way low. I think you are having serious issues with the auto trans. I would suggest at least buying a manual trans setup to make some runs with if you are serious about getting your car "right". then you can see where your auto should be and then use the auto if you are bracket racing etc.
N/A cars about the same weight as yours are running 89-90mph with no spray. I am assuming your converter is "lock up"
Still you should not have insane converter slip in a 90mph car.

Our Daytona is a 1986 Turbo Z  that we purchased new on August 14, 1986.  The car has been a garage queen almost from day one and currently shows just 7025 oruginal miles.  I know its boring to some but its pretty much bone stock.  I can't find any pics here to post but, there is one at www.SDAC.org . Go to the site and hit the PHOTOS icon, then the SDAC-15 icon, my car is on page 3, its the last car in row 2.
