I have a 93 twin turbo, she runs fine for a while, then randomly the temp guage starts creeping up into the red. The thing is, the radiator and over flow are both lipping full. Once its hit the red all three times I have stoped almost immdiatly so I havent run it hot long, however it doesnt feel like its over heating as I drive it, I also check under the hood and it feels like its at a normal temerature. Is it possable that the gauge has gone wonky on me or that the water pump is randomly not pumping at only certain times? I have found no leaks what so ever and I am truely stumped.

yeah i would get a new thermostat and see if it helps

Alright, I have a new thermostat, this is the first non 70's era car I have ever owned, can someone please tell me where the thermostat is located?

Ive done some more reasearch and I am now 100% sure the problem is that my fans arent coming on. I can force them on with the AC though, I also already replaced the relay just in case. If you all think its the thermostat please tell me where it is and I will make with the changing.

had that problem in summer was the thermoastat feel bottom rad hose when car hot if hose is cold its thermastat ,not opening up 40 bucks your good to go 10 min job..

Mine is doing the same thing....only one fan is comming on. Changed the thermostat and water pump and it is still over heating....I'm stumped!

Only the fan on the passenger side will come on when needed. The one on the driver side comes on when the AC is on and is needed.

The thermostat is under the radiator cap between the valve covers on the passenger side.

Now i'm really stumped....That means my fans are working correctly. Why else would it overheat?

Since you just changed the water pump, you cold have an air bubble in the system.

How do you get the bubble out?
