Default 2006 Dakota Recall!!

We just got a bulletin here at work from Crimestopper. It applies to 2006 Dakota and Durangos There is a problem with static discharge on the dashes. A sudden static discharge with the dash can cause the lights to flash or turn on, the wipers to turn on, the windshield washer bottle to empty itself, and the cluster to stop working properly. We got it because dealers were blameing it on the remote starters. The recal involves resetting the gauge cluster.

Ya, I have that problem, and they won't fix it for me..

Why you ask?

Cuz they say it doesn't adhere to my trucks VIN number, that it's showing it as not having that problem...

Well, folks, I'm here to tell you, it does have this problem.

Hey thats weird, when the dealer was picking up my truck from the marshalling center by the Palace in auburn hills (because I bought a employee lease turn in) they got a mile away and all the lights on the cluster went on and they replaced the whole cluster control module. This just happened a week and half ago...thats weird...

I'd bring it back and tell them to kiss my ass! At least you don't have the cluster that catches fire.(2004) lol

Well it was all done free of charge because of my warrenty plus they have to do the 125pt inspection and if anything minor is wrong they fix it free of charge...if its unrepairable they can't sell the car... so it wasn't that bad.

Apparently there was a 2007 dakota recall as well but did not seem to affect many of them

WTF??? who shifts from Drive to neutral then back to drive at speeds in excess of 40mph??? I guess I should ask what beta game tester decided to apply his skills to driving?

I had a buddy do game testing for Epic a few years ago. his job was to do crap that people wouldn't do in a game, just to try and crash it. I wondered why he was so good at unreal tournament 2003, but I found out he was glitching around like a 2007 dakota PCM...
