Engine ticks loud - 3/8/2007 9:01:54 PM    fastcat   Posts: 9 Joined: 2/14/2007 Status: offline Hi, I have a 96 Intrepid w/ a 3.3L and 116k miles.  I just bought it and when I start it up it sounds as if the motor is ticking.  THe ticking is kind of loud and it is consistant w/ the RPMs.  I've changed the oil and put a quart of Lucas in it but it didnt help any.  I pulled the valve covers off today and everything looked normal.  WHat could the problem be and is this common?
