Default Another Exhaust question

Hey everyone im new here, i just bought a durango and want to get dual exhausts. I searched the forum and looked on ebay but their kits seem to have pretty small ends and on the forum i read alot of good things about flowmaster 50 series.. What i was wondering was if someone could give me links to sites that have what i need for sale or where you have got your duals on the net. Thanks in advance

I don't know of any kits for dual exhaust on a Durango. You would be better off buying any muffler you want, and paying a muffler shop to custom bend from the muffler to dual tips. You could prolly get one done for 250$.

a flowmaster will cost you about $100-150, depending on where you buy it from.

Just my 2cents. Duals dont look good on durangos..... Besides you have to remove your spare tire. I have a single straight pipe with a nice oval tip on mine, and I get comments all the time. Its louder and sounds better than other $400+ systems that I've seen. But like I said just my 2cents !!!

I agree a D would look wierd with dual because of the cut out in the rear bumper. You couldnt just cut out the other side bcause the stock hole is moulded and rounded a bit. Maybe if you enlarged the hole and had the tip closer to the bumper, a matching second tip would look pretty badass.

You don't have to remove your spare tire, just get the shop to route the exhaust around it. A user here on DF has dual exhaust with the spare still intact. I forget who, maybe they will read this and give their $0.02

Yes it can be done. I don't recomend it because of the bumper. You have to cut it out and it doesn't look good.

You can get a pre-fab dual exhaust kit made by GSM motorsports.

I think Duals looks good on the D. I seen one where the guy put the duals facing out and down from the far corners of the bumper and not from the original position. The tips were barely sticking out from the corners so it looks almost invisible.

Any muffler shop can custom bend the pipes to fit around the suspension and the spare tire. The shop here in town thats going to do mine said that he could form the pipes no problem for my flowmasters. He is only chrging me $225.00. Its really not that big of a job. I am waiting toinstall my duals until after I complete the 3"suspension lift so I can be sure that the pipe hangers will be located in the proper places without having to move the mounting points twice.

Make sure you mean dual tips instead of dual exhaust! The durango's don't have enough room to do a true dual exhaust with a good X crossover pipe. If you put one on you would be able to see it under the truck and that would be ugly as sin.

If you are going for power then one of teh prefab kits would be your best bet because all of the bends are Mandrell bends, all of the muffler shops just use a regular pipe bender which cause the opening to close and be more restrictive.but if you are going for sound and looks then the muffler shop is the way to go.

As for dual pipes, they look good on my truck but they where done right. They would look funny under the stock bumper.
