Server overload issues?

Look at all the people here "Active Users: There are 112 members and 3502 guests."

when 30 people click the refresh button on the site or browser it sends 30 requests for that page to load, if you have 1000, 2000, 3000 people loading that same page it is going to lagg down ALOT.

The only thing that will fix this, is set a refresh delay, as in you cant refresh or duble post within 10secs.

On my old sites i use to set it so that users cant make more then 2 posts in 30secs, and users cant refresh the same page over and over again, set a limit as in you cant refresh the page you are on unless you wait 10secs.

That will free up the request packets to the server, and help the site ALOT.

or you can get a better server, but to do that you need money and time. If we transfer servers (from mast experiance) it takes the site down from about 2hours up to 1 month. Depending on how good your host/server tech is.

Me.. i would just add delays. That way you dont have people clicking the home page button every 1/2 sec looking for new posts, put a 10 sec delay on it, and it will help everything out.

I get the same thing, you click somthing, but the page just hangs or goes white and then you have to refrsh it ending up with either 2x posts or your **** deleted and you have to type it all back out again. Useally it lasts about 10-30secs for me.

That could be your connection timing out. Does it do it on any other sites?

Also its not a one time charge to upgrade a server host, useally if they want to upgrade its like an extra XX$ amount depending on the server size/bandwidth ect... so we would have to keep giving each month..
