So do any of the first Generation owners Like the new (2nd Generation) Drango. I don't like the looks of them for sure. I don't know about the proformance.

The Hemi performance wins hand down vs. the 360 but they look like pigs to me [:'(]. If the hemi was an option in the 1st gen I would have definitely gone for that though,it hasmore power and better gas mileage.

If it wasn't so much work to put the 2nd Gen Hemi into a 1st Gen Durango, I'd do it because the Hemi is a better motor. The 2nd gen D'sdon't look anywhere near as nice as the 1stGens doIMHO.

I have an 01, and I too thought that the 2nd gen Durangos were not attractive. However, we have 2 05 Durangos at work and I have to say they kind of grow on you a bit. A couple of things I have noted:
The dredded A pillar is still an issue when approaching an intersection. It is very easy for a pedestrian to be hidden behind it.
The rear view of the 2nd gen is even worse than the 1st gen, but the ride and drive of the 2nd gen is much more car like and alot less truck like.
Both of our 2nd gen have the 4.7. I have not had the delight of the Hemi as of yet.
The full time AWD of the 2nd gen is nice. It is nice to have the 4x4 system you paid for working 24/7 and really helps when pulling out into traffic in wet weather.
The rear doors open wider on the 2nd gen, and there seems to be a tad more legroom back there.
One last thing, Ido notlike the newer remote/key combo of the 2nd gen. The remote w/ key is $125 a pop, and there is no way to leave your D running and lock the car like I can with my 01 key and seperate remote.

I second that. I was devastated when they changed the Durango body style. I'm a little ashamed of DC for putting the Durango badging on the 2nd gens, hurt a great name. They are only redeemed by the HEMI badging they put on the other side of the tailgate.
I like the first Gen because it drives like a truck. A lot of newer fords and chevy's feel really soft to me, likeI wasdriving a bloated mini van

If you have to ask, you don't have enough money. Not to mention the new tranny/rear end. I don't know if the new motors come with full plug and play ability to your existing wire harnes. I assume they dont.
