Default Fan clutch or water pump replacement

On my '98 3.9L v6 Dak, I have a water leak from between the engine and the back side of the radiator fan (behind the pulley) and the entire assembly (fan blades and pulley) is loose and can be moved about 1/2 an inch front to back. Since there is the water leak, would this indicate a replacement of the water pump or am I looking in the wrong direction?

Thanks,

Mike

Default RE: Fan clutch or water pump replacement

I just had the same problem. i was leaking antifreeze like crazy and it turned out to bo the bearings in my water pump had gone out from right behing the pulley. doesn't take too much to replace about 70 bucks and and hour or two.
