RE: Wobbly steering column
I can not tell you that it's safe to drive.
While it could last another 50 thousand miles, if it breaks at any time, you could be facing serious trouble.
It's probably ok to drive to-from the parts store, so long you take it nice and easy.
As for what needs replacing, and how hard it is...
I don't know what it could be, but as a rule, steering related parts are a basic PITA to fix but you can diy.
Just takes time, more than a few steps and some hard to reach spots, but not impossible.
As a rule steering is ok, suspension is a no-no.
You might need a steering wheel puller.
It could also be some knuckle thing under the hood (forgot the name of it), could even be the rack and pinion gear or the kingpins but I really don't know, if Dodge even uses r+p or kingpins... As a rule, kingpins or rack and pinion would result in erratic steering thou (similar, but not wobbly).
But it sure won't hurt looking into it, you can always decide, once you find the problem, what to do about it.
