Default tire wear

Anyone else noticing the tread wearing fast on the outsides of the front tires on their srt8 chargers? On my parents car they are almost bald on the outsides with plenty of tread in the middle and inside, with only 13,000 miles on it seems wierd! Kinda funny to have the fronts wear out befor the rears!

Default RE: tire wear

I have only 7000 miles on my Charger nd have noticed excess wear on the sidewalls. Have tried higher inflation to see if that helps.

I would say that the allignment is off. At 12000 miles, you'll probably have to pay the bill, but considering the cost of tires, its pretty cheap.

Yea thats what I would say too is the alignments off. We talked to the dealer, (who is usually pretty good about things) they said the would pay for the alignment but not the tires. which I think is a little bs because the car was never hit anything so if the alignment is off it came from the factory that way! That's why I'm checking here to see if anyone else has or had this problem. And yea the cost of tires is up there!! With no chance of rotating them becuuse of the different sizes it hurts the wallet!

Default RE: tire wear

I had an alignment done at about 20000km(12000miles)I rotate the tires every 10000km.The car now has 30000km(18000miles) The toe was out on mine as well. The left tire seems to be going again..... Judging by the wear on both I would like to assume that the camber is out....I guess the only way to tell would be to buy new front tires and see how the wear but I like to sqeeze as much as I can out of these not so cheap tires.....I may ask DR Z.(if it still applies with the chrysler unit being sold!!!)
