Default Would Appreciate help from someone who knows

I have a 1988 Dodge Power Ram 50 with a 2.6L 5 speed manual 4x4. I just went through the motor replacing the head gasket, exhaust man. geasket intake gasket, new plugs wires cap rotor, ignition coil, timing chain, silent chain, and rebuilt the cheap carbuerator. i still am getting a miss when i give the truck too much petal. I'm debating on the distributor needing to be replace as so it is the factory dist. Any suggestions would be much appreciated if you can help. Also, I am planning in the distant future to change to b***er motor and suck and cannot find a changeover guide. Would also like to know where to pick one up.[&:]

Yeah it don't have points. The way the truck acts is like it's all in the carb. but i was raised a chevy man and don't know anything bout dodge. but really don't want to get rid of the truck. love it too much. I was gonna buy a new carb but it's like $500 with exchange and that just isn't happenin. I have heard that i could change it with older 2 or 4 barrel with an adapter plate but not sure what carbs will work.

Not knowing anything about Dodge won't hurt you in this case. Not knowing about Mitsubishi is going to be your downfall. Start combing the net for Mighty Max forums and information.

sounds like a vacuum leak.

grab a can of brake cleaner or carb cleaner. start it up and carefully spray around the carb gaskets. if the engine revs higher, youve found the hole. tighten things a bit and try it again.

you may also have a vac hose with a crack in it.

it takes time .
