Default Oil and Air

Hello all I keep seeing the adds for Amsoil and have been to thir website. What I would like to know is if Amsoil is all that it says it is and should I replace all of the fluids. I drive a 03' 5.9L 4X4 offroad. I live in west Texas and the sand likes to blow. Also I was planning on putting a K&N cold air system on and have only been able to find one for the Hemi and was wondering if it would fit the 5.9. if it does should I also get the drycharger cover. thanks for all youre help

well Amsoil is a damn good oil...I will give it that....but its not the all mighty answer to all your prayers that they claim it to be.

Moble 1 is 1 point behind in almost all the tests, and royal purple (hmmm..I wonder why they are not included in the tests) is just as good!!

As for the intake the 5.9 and Hemi have different style TBs there for a Hemi intake wont fit the 5.9. However you can get the K&N intake for the 2002 Ram and use it!

I'll agree, that no oil is the answer for everyone. AMSOIL is very good stuff though, And its guaranteed good for 25k or 1 year. With a filter change at 12.5k or 6months. I don't think any other Oil company will make such a bold guarantee.

I personally use the Dual Remote Bypass set-up. For the maximum in filtration. This also increases your total amount of oil in your system, which has advantages too.

Being in a dusty area such as yourself , the dual remote might look attractive to you. This is the most extreme filtration on the market.

Let me know if you'd like a cost analysis for getting you started. Or if you have any other questions.

Take care.

Amsoilgear lube is lifetime fill (never needs replacing). Amsoil's ATF last three times as long as Mopar ATF +4 and you can use it in your transfer case and power steering too. I picked up 1.5 mpg with the gear lube and oil in my 5.9 Ram. You can read some of Amsoil's performance tests and decide for yourself. www.amsoil.com/performancetests.htm

Here is a link for a nice intake : www.360airintakez.com I warn you that the intake is not the best deal if you live in a dusty enviroment.Thr K&N filter on my intake, in my Dakota, was soiled by dirt within three months of use. I resorted back to the stock box and now my filter stays clean.
