Default gas mileage

I have a 2.0 w/ auto 23000 miles on it current gas mileage is 29.5--32mpg
mostly hwy driving. If you stay at 55-60 was getting 32mpg and do have some hills to drive
up. Now all this depend on the weather , wind and the way you drive. I dont go over 65
and dont tail gate . The only thing i have done to the car change oil, air filter and plugs
i do all my own work on the car.
I have a dodge truck with the 4.7 v-8 and get 18--20 mpg with the same driving as i do
now with the car.
For the price of 13,250 its a great car , cant expect a 30,ooo dollar ride

Hi newyearbaby2006...Hey, you're gettingvery goodmileage in the winter! When I purchased in September 2006, I was beating your 32MPG only on warm days & long trips. Generally, short trips with lots of cooldowns(specially inthe winter)& my mileage sank to 25 to 27MPG. Found the CVT tranny has to be driven very very softly(very very slow acceleration, low speeds, & no yo yo speed changes), or it will take big chunks out ofyour MPG. Hey, you got a great price for your Caliber! Grace & peace to you.... litesong

Hi newyearbaby2006....You drive like me. How's your MPG been thru the winter & winter mix gas? My initial average of 30+MPG in the fall began to fall as a cold long winter came on & alsothe use of lower energy winter mix gas. My average dropped thru the winter to 28.4MPG. With the warming spring & summer mix gas, my average has risen to 29.4MPG. If my Caliber continues to function well, I hopemy average reaches into the low 30's by end of my first year of ownership. I did have aone time flat highway high of 34.9MPG. I'm most happy with my 4000 foot mountain pass average of 32+MPG with a high of 33.7MPG.

I like to meet other feather footers with good MPG. Other drivers just don't believe us!

Default RE: gas mileage

Posted this on another thread here, but thought this older thread could be used too. After 1 year of SE Caliber w/CVT ownership, my overall average (what I would call official) MPG is 31.4MPG. Feather footed steadily to get that mileage & think few others have such a high MPG with over 50 tanks of gasoline compiled.Reading other of my posts on this thread gives agood indication of Caliber's capabilities.
