Hi, I am a Daytona V6 owner and I want this mofo turbocharged.  I don't feel like spending $500 - $1000 on a turbocharger to "see" if I can get one going.  So I created an online petition and maybe with enough signatures we can get one of these companies to hear our voice and start creating us some turbochargers!

With a V6..... just have two exaust manifolds made....($150???) with the flange you want for your turbos of choice.  I would look into either a pair from some old Probe's(Mazda 626/MX-6, Isuzu I-Mark or the T-Birds.  You really don't need a big set.... smaller would work much better for the size motor.  An increase in fuel is pretty basic.  I would estimate you should be able to turbo a V6 in under $1,000 total.  Or less if you are very handy.  Then even less.
I currently drive a car (92 GEO Storm) that I converted to turbo .......keep in mind, there are NO kits or other performance parts made for that car.
The idea of a kit is kinda silly to me...... I see these Honda boys dumping 2-3k into a turbo kit....and I did mine for around $500...(plus i bought a welder to do my own welding on the project).
I would suggest a set T-Bird turbos.  They are old IHI's.... good reliable and capable of enough boost to push you hard...with mininmal spool up time.  The flange is really easy to fabricate for it.
Good luck.

Good luck trying to get ANY aftermarket company to make any performance parts. Unless you have an import or a Neon, most aftermarket companies don't care. I've been trying to find parts for my 85 2.2 for years with no luck other than bigger injectors or a different regulator. Like the 71 Buick I had, nobody made performance parts for a 71 BUICK engine. Chevy parts all over the place, but they're not the same... Best bet would be to hit a fab shop and have the parts made, or make 'em yourself...

I was thinking about this thread today......
There are 3 types of turbos you can get.
#1 is the ones that come in the under $1,000 kits on eBay.
They are poorly made using inferior steel for the manifold.....and cheap chinese turbo's
#2 quaility aftermarket turbos and custom manifold.
They cost much more than the $1000 price you were asking.  However they don't break.
#3 factory turbos off of other cars.  This option is far and away the most cost effective.  You can get them for as little as $30-50 each...and they are reliable and dependable.  And made by good companies.  You can then spend more on the exhaust manifolds to get better ones made.

You can never be really sure how reliable or dependable a used turbo is going to be, the previous owner could have beaten the car hard and never taken proper care of the turbo... like driving it hard and shutting the engine off without letting the turbo cool/spool-down.
Although if you get the turbo used a rebuild kit is usually fairly inexpensive.

I 100% agree with the rebuild of a used turbo.  That is the only way I have ever done it.  A rebuild is pretty easy... if you know what you are doing..... and also easy if you get an exploded view of the turbo.  I rebuilt mine for about $75-80 or so.... balancing was another $10-20......however .....most balance jobs I have heard people get is in the $80 range.

First off....for a 3.0 a single turbo is best generally...unless you want to spend alot of time with it.  A t3/t4 hybrid is good...just make sure you get the right size. go with a .63 a/r and probably 50 trim...thats what im going with. A kit sounds good in theory but in reality its just not going to happen.  Money is just the key factor....you can get away with only spending a little but you wont get great results....spend a bit and youll beat srt4s no prob.  Could always stick to n/a and if you build it right can run really low 14s possibly high 13s on slicks.

Those Mitsubishi 3.0L's are oil leaking anchors, I wouldn't even consider trying to turbocharge one, you'd be better off dropping a 2.2L or 2.5L turbo in it.

There are several places with 2.2L performance parts such as fwdperformance.com and relentlessracing.com.

Funny you say that....a couple have been turboed with great results.  Some of the engines do leak but its almost always an easy fix.  You think your better off with a 2.2 or 2.5 but really the 3.0 has  way greater potential if turboed right. Even a mild setup would be awesome.  You can safely run 5 psi through em without forged internals...and if you regap the rings probably a bit more.  Brent Seman was beating srt4s on 5psi...the only reason why his car failed is simply because he wasnt running a high flow fuel pump and ran too much boost and starved the fuel.  He was running high 13s with it. The thing about swapping to a 4 cylinder is your are going to undergo the same work...at pretty much the same price or more.

The turbo off the conquest is like a mitsu 14b or 17b or something.  That turbo would work for quick spool action on the street but its kinda too small believe it or not.  I know some guys who put a turbo on a 3.0 that is VERY similar to the conquests turbo and they seen some decent results but overall powerband isn't too great.  The car has off the line spool but it the boost doesnt pull through the powerband like it should.  A properly sized hybrid is the way to go trust me.   I bought a conquest turbo a while back.....and changed my mind for my project.  Do what you want but id stick with a hybrid.

the 3.0 has tons of potential its just overlooked due to the vast availability of the 2.2 2.5 turbo tonas.  alot of people have been doing the 3.0 24 valve SOHC swap into daytonas and shadows with great results. and lots of people have done turbo installs on these engines and they show awesome results.
here are some links to 3.0 turbo sites.

I only know one guy who swapped a 24v into his shadow and it having problems getting it to run with his megasquirt right.  I dunno all the details though.  Honestly if more people would be will to actually stick with the 3.0 12v setup and do real work to em (heads and cams etc) more companies would jump on and make products.

I think....this is a video of my turbo 3.0 boat anchor that will destroy mr srt-4's ignorance and his pathetic little srt-4
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/957c359f-3ec1-4c36-bbcf-988d013997be.htm

Sorry you dont know anything about engines!
I hope you educate yourself.
I hope you think its cool that 2.2-2.5's need to have their engine block coolant passages filled (cant drive the car on the street anymore) to make 300hp/liter and 6g7x blocks can make 500+hp/liter with no block filling. This obviously isnt a "displacement" issue either.
2.5L can only make 600crank hp before filling blocks.
3.0L can make 1500crank hp without filling the block. In face there has never been such a failure. I think I know which is the boat anchor.
Nelson performance has a few TWIN gt4202 mitsu v6's that can be driven on the street with a stock block. Thats 2000whp worth of turbo.
