I also have reservations about flowmasters.  I had a flowmaster setup like that on my 03 RAM 5.7 Hemi and it was loud, once you toss MDS in the equation there could be drone.  I want to hear it not droning, then I will believe.

It is possible the sound is different in the Magnum versus the Charger because of the different body styles, with the magnum being open in the back it seems potentially more resonance would be a magnifier for any droning, which again I and others have not noticed with the Flowmaster on my car.

The only bad noise was after the installation, and several blocks away from the muffler shop, a loud banging showed up.  Took it right back and had to wait awhile while another car was being worked on. Then I  took the installer for a ride to demonstrate the noise.  After the exhaust got hot the noise reappeared.  The drive shaft was hitting one or more muffler ahead of the differential, so once the mufflers were moved toward the engine, no banging noise.  That was a year ago, and have been enjoying the Flowmaster sound and increased power since.

Best,
Walela

I agree the body style of the Magie will lend itself to be more acoustical.

I'm thinking of ditching my Magnaflow system in favor of the Flowmaster system.  But it's the drone that "scares" me.  Maybe I could just have my muffler shop put in a couple Super 40s in place of the center pieces (are these the mufflers or resonators on the Magnaflow?  Who knows).

The super 40 mufflers by Flowmaster are the mufflers in that kit.  The rear unit are the resonators.

As an unrelated topic, I was @ Murphy and Shelby Dodge yesterday having my Magnums transmission leak repaired, and mentioning the TCM module offered by High Horse Performance, the Service manager mentioned that it is possibleto flash the 5.7 computer to think it is an SRT8, thus yielding faster shifting more HP, and better gas mileage for $96.00.  Sounds intriguing, anybody out there tried this?

This dealership is in San Fernando, Ca. and co-owned by Carroll Shelby, who also was a patient I woked on while @ CSMC.

Wonder how, if at all, that would affect the SuperChips tuning?

Hey that flash your talking about is a SRT8 Tranny Flash.  I have heard nothing but good things.  It is suppose to improve shifts from 1st to 2nd and from Rev to drive.  That and the no esp mod are two of the hottest cheapest mods out there for our cars right now.  It does work well with the Tuner.  Just make sure your car is set to stock when you take it to your dealer to get flashed.  There is also some problems with dealers not flashing it because it is for an srt8 and they don't get payed by DX for doing it.  I've been buttering my service manager up to get him to do this for me.  We are on a first name basis now and he told me I can bring the car in next week to get it done!

Also this is the first I heard of people getting charged to have this done.
