RE: Smashed Rim?
Very bad.. it looks like somone took a sledge hammer and smashed one side of it.. its round and then a really big flat spot, and the tire was bubblie on the side.. NTB just did a tire swap for me about 1 week ago, i had 255s on there and they put 245s instead of the 255s like i asked, but i have new tires coming in thursday, so i didnt bother bringing it back.. till this thursday, do you think that had anything to do with it? But i dont think smaller then normal tires are also going to smash your rim... here some pics.
and it had to happen today, becuase yesterday we had the truck jacked up changing the oil, and i looked at all the tires and picked rocks out of them.. so it happened sometime today.. no idea what though? I didnt really go fast today at all, cept racing the one guy about 2 hours ago i got up to about 100.. then got pulled over and the cop showed me the tire and let me go.

LOL did you hit something? like something on the road or maybe the curb.
having lowprofile tires makes your rim more likely to get smashed up when hitting stuff. but how could you not feel that? you would think you would have atleast had a viberation at any speed. and someting like that does happen just from racing. it looks like you hit a curb to me

RE: Smashed Rim?
didnt hit a curb.. never touched anything. Makes me sick. . .. . . . i dont know my friend works at NTB and said that the inside of the tire shredded and may have caused a burst of pressure to break the rim.. i have no idea though it looks like i did hit somthing, but i didnt feel anything while i was driving and it felt normal.. i have no idea...

if u hit a curb... there would probaly be some curb rash on the rim. you can't really see any scrach on it though so maybe it was the tire. never herd of that happening. if you hit a sharp curb the dent would have been obviously a curb dent. seems strange to me a tire breaking a belt could do that much damge. how many miles on the tire? i'd take back to whoever put the tires on, seems to me like they sold you a defective product and could have caused an accident. i say totall refund.
racing on the street makes baby jesus cry. you're lucky you didn't get your truck impounded. Looks like pothole damage, and the tire probably needs to be replaced too.

ONly had the tires for like 1- 1.5 weeks. These are just some i was trying till my ones i orded came in. They are Fulda Quantum Elites Pretty good tires...
also when you said it seems strange about the tire belt breaking, are you agreeing with me or did you meen to say coudn't? Just wondering. cuz to me i dont think a tire can cause that much dmg to a rim.. but i could be wrong.

I was at a race track.. Texas Motor Speedway, there is a long street called victory circle. Knowone drives on it most of the time. Its one of the safest places to run. The road is in perfect condition and you have like 3/4 mile view of people coming and going. 4 lanes. Also the sherrif was pretty cool about it, he just said to take my truck home and get my rim fixed.
Ive had the tires less then 30 days.. hell less then 20.. i have a spare rim in my bed.. but its my last one. I didn;t hit any big potholes.. at all just the normal ones i go over everyday. Texas roads suck... and all the 18wheelers make it even worse, some roads around here make you feel like your on a damn roller coaster. its scary.

racing or just normally driving to work. i thought puppies took the fall, not jesus. I took my liscence plate off my truck because everybody here in the midwest (just moved to the mo side of kansas city)drives so slow, and i don't want peope getting my plate #. kepp it in the pass. seat incase i spot a cop so i can put it in the rear window. i hate to rant but i'm going to. lately on the 35mhp roads people drive 25. i drive 50 and push it to 70 to prove a point, and because thats we and i do somtetimgs(it feels good to pass, fly by somebody going 10mph under). I know where the cops sit and i go 8-9 over on the construction zones(don't want to hurt any body) and get radared every day. Ok, can i just get there quiker/am a better driver, or am i an asswh@le? why do i(we)go 30mph over when some people go 20mph under. ??? drives me crazy or faster, i don't know. oh and i think your tire did that.
