Default 2004 Ram 4.7L Owners: RECALL: (8/5/04):

The company said it's recalling immediately 2,000 Dodge Rams from 2004 and with 4.7 Liter engines. Max Gates (DaimlerChrysler spokesman) said an alternator wire in the those trucks can hit a valve, cause a short circuit and pose a fire danger. Ram owners will be notified Aug. 13.

Gates said no incidents have been reported in the Rams. Twenty-three fires have been reported in recent months in the minivans, mostly in Canada, but none have led to injuries or accidents, he said.

Default 2004 Ram 4.7L Owners: RECALL: (8/10/04):

Dealer Service Instructions for:
Safety Recall D34 Valve Cover Stud
2004 (DR) Dodge Ram Pick-up Trucks

NOTE: This recall applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 4.7L engine built from June 24, 2004 through July 7, 2004
(MDH 062401 through 070718).

IMPORTANT: Many of the vehicles within the above build period have already
been inspected or repaired and, therefore, have been excluded from this recall.
The generator wiring harness on about 2,200 of the above vehicles may short
circuit due to contact with a valve cover stud. A short circuit in the generator
harness can cause an underhood fire.
The generator wiring harnesses must be rerouted and secured to the valve cover
stud.

Thanks to Stingray, for the information.
