Has anyone had their interior lights remain on, but the dash lights and instruments not work? Replaced the alternator last year. Is this possibly a fuse issue?

I agree with jaswasup, it sounds like the interior light switch. Being that both the lighting issues you are having pass through/are controled by the switch, that's where I'd start.

It sounds to me like you (no_name) are discribing a normal function of the lights. If you leave the lights on and turn off the engine, the lights will remain on for about 1 min. If after that they do not turn off on their own, I would look at the relay. Do they cycle off after you turn the light switch to off AND then cycle the key to the run and them off? If so, they are working normal...only need to verify if they will turn off after a min or so on their own. This is a comon feature nowadays so as you exit the car, you have light and then it turns off on it's own.
