He says its the purple wire with a blue stripe. Maybe we need some clarification here. Would hate to cut the wrong wire

I had to re-read the instructional paragraph, "purple wire with a blue strip" it is. I missed that the first time around. It all ran together in my head I'm also aging

I'd still like to hear from those who have done this about whether or not there is still the "power serge" at 3000 rpm like before the mod, i.e., is it stronger throughout the rpm range, or what. It is obvious that it's stronger on the bottom end.

Where are you going to mount the switch? Any "stealth" ideas?

Ok Dave here it is I didnt drill hole I put it in coin slot, fits petty good. I used a little pc of foam to keep it from rattlein if it ever decided to.It stays in place when flipped on and off,and can be quickly removed if need be.The only thing I'll have to drill will be a small hole at the bottom of the coin slot for the wires to stick through.

Wowzers! That's a nice switch. Looks like you could mount that almost anywhere and it would look like it belongs. Where did you find it? Just a simple "push button"?

Will you use a grommet in the bottom where you drill the hole for the wire to come through?

Thanks, Marty. I'll look - I'll bet I can find something at least similar - although this is New Mexico and things take a little bit longer to get here than other places .

This mod seems like it might be the one we've been looking for. I would suggest that, if after several of us have done it and everything seems to be working fine, that we get it posted permanently on here someplace for future reference by others.

What do you guys think?

dave
