Hmmm...an SRT-4 Avenger or a Challenger SRT-8- it's going to be tough for me to decide which one to buy when they are both finally out. With the way gas prices are going, the Avenger is looking like the smarter choice for my daily commuter. However, it's pretty damned hard to beat the drop dead sexiness of the Challenger. Why does Dodge have to do this to me? lol :P

ORIGINAL: ViperGTS This car is what the Charger should have been. a smaller four door? no hemi? FWD? The Charger is sexy when it isn't in a dumb Daytona appearence package... The Avenger will have available AWD Nicko... the charger has awd now so i didnt even bother to mention that.

ORIGINAL: Midnight The Charger is sexy when it isn't in a dumb Daytona appearence package... The Avenger will have available AWD Nicko... Nick was refering to the fact that in normal conditions the normal models of the Avenger is a FWD with AWD optional, and the Charger is a RWD with AWD optional. This really looks like it is a serious competitor. Did you notice that they also mentioned a 2.0L with a manual in the future section as well? Although I'm not interested in a model like that, that will appeal to those who want good fuel mileage, and they also mentioned a Diesel version as well in the future section. This car is a huge improvement over the Stratus. This car is the Spirit all over again, only much nicer. Adding the 300hp turbo I4 is a nice improvement. That should be able to beat the Mazda Speed6, as well as the Nissan Altima, and Camry in acceleration. They mentioned it would have both an automatic and manual with the turbo, I wonder if the automatic will be the new 62TE, or the CVT2. If the 62TE, it will probably get reasonably good fuel mileage. I think this car is a home run for Dodge in the mid-sized market. The only things I would do different is I would offer the 4.0L in the R/T, the detuned 3.5L in the SXT package, and I would offer the 62TE in all versions. The 2.7L just isn't very competitive. The market is moving away from 4-speeds and it can't hurt to one up Toyota and Honda (for a change).

ORIGINAL: thefamilyguy209 Although the basis of the avenger is mitsu the bulk of the design is mopar. And with Mopar motivation it should make for a peppy well handling car. I can't agree with the peppy part, lol. This is definitely what the first Avenger should have been optioned with. Well, at least the 3.5L V6. It makes for a peppy car. That's great that this Avenger version has a turbo option and AWD (although, only in auto ) too. Things are looking better for the Avenger name IMO Although, I can see an AWD Charger in my future, if not an EVO X, lol.
