Default My motor story

ok well as some of you already know.... but for you guys that dont....

I was crusing down the highway on a test drive with this stealth that i recentally bought for 400$ 1993 Mystic blue es 5speed. anyways i was going down the highway just at 80. and i was studying my gauges whenever i noticed my oil pressure dropping verry slowly. i'm not a big mechanic on these car types. but for the most part i love them. anyways... after my oil pressure dropped all the way down to nothing i killed the car and just coasted off the highway luckally to the gas station. so whenever i got there i checked the oil. it was really low. so i dashed inside and bought 3 quarts of oil and quickly put them in. only to find that the motor wont turn over at all. it just makes a clicking sound. i've had a couple of people tell me that it was "locked up" or "seised" and i want to get it fixed now. can i do it with a rebuild. or would i have to have a complete new engine block.

now it just sits on the side of my house. it pisses me off every time i look at it. but i need help guys. thanks

~Will

You can repair a seized engine by rebuilding it. The bearings will have to be replaced and your crankshaft and camshafts may need to be machined or replaced depending on the damage. If the cylinder walls were damaged will have to be cleaned up by honing or boring over-sized. It may be cheaper to buy a long-block from autozone or somewhere else if available.

??

Depending upon how long you want to keep your car and if you plan on losing money for it when you sell, you may want to look into a factory shortblock from Mitsu.

For a few hundred dollars more than that, you can have a brand new Mitsu shortblock...
