hi there mango quick question (i know why blog it when i could have pm the message well for the benefit of everyone),in reguards to the cam install ,ive ordered the following the 210lx cam with rollers to kill of the mds the behive springs and the titanium retainers and manley pushrods. These should beef up the heads right? oh p.s marty at krc says hi.would i need anything else? p.s krc said the mopar camshaft is no where near aggresive as it should be ,matter of fact he says the srt8 cam is more aggressive go figure.also with the beefed up programming with the pcm module and the tranny module ,this set up is tops with out going into custom flashs for the car.so i think ill be happy the only thing left to do after is the crankshaft and vibration dampner and new pistons for a stronger set up and redone heads and hopefully that will be it (like it isnt enough).......

New roller lifters, springs/retainers and pushrods will beef up the valve train which is an integral part of the heads. This will help keep away issues like bent pushrods and floating valves .

Other means to beef up the heads: There is a HP bottle neck in the Head structure. The shape of the stock intake/exhaust ports and defects in the casting donâ€™t allow the engine to breathe to its full potential. Thatâ€™s where Head porting and matching comes into play to match-up ports and smooth out the flow of the intake and exhaust. Also compression can be altered w/head changes. You also have to look at the intake manifold when port matching.

The 6.1 cam is beefier. I had one that I sold to powerwagon a while back because it wouldnâ€™t play w/MDS properly. He was gong to put it in his Power Wagon not the Daytona. Since your undoing MDS you could slide one of those in, but thereâ€™s still the PCM issue. Iâ€™m hoping SuperChips will help this mod in the future.

You have plotted a good course, especially when you harden the lower end to handle the increased torque.

thanks for the tips and encouragement just attacking 1 problem at a time and all its complex issues i am a firm believer that 1 change does effect others and untreated will cause problems.so i figure camshaft today tommoroww the world [sm=badbadbad.gif].then after im done doing the crankshaft and pistons and bore and stroke it heads as well then i figure maybe if im in the mood ill mess with nitrous the motor should be strong enough then for a small shot nothing crazy like a shot of 75 everyonce in a blue mone especially if that moon is over a track
