MINE IS DOING IT ALL BY IT SELF.I think it must be a code hal receives because yesterday my rt with the road and track died with only 400 miles on it. I was going about 40 when before it shifted it gulped and boged and froze. My car would not go above 43. So I pulled over and restarted my car the check engine lite was lit. The book says drive and it will clear, well it didnt. I called the stealer he said remove the neg cable in the trunk for about 15 min and it should clear. Yes it clears but now the dash lights up above the car marker ESP BYP. and the ESP i5 turned off. DONT HAVE A FU$%ING CLUE. but now It works and I can turn it off, GO FIGURE. So im thinking Hal got a bad message when the check light came on!

The CAB are the same between the Police package and the civilian version. For 2006 depending on build date their are 2 ABS modules and 2007 also has 2 different ones. The diffences in the 2007 and late build 2006 with the xzz sales codes are one is for the SRT8 and the rest get the other module. The 2006 without the xzz has 2 different ones depending on AWD or RWD. I dont see a seperate police package module.

Junior 5290,

If there are no differences, why does it turn off the ESP on the squad car and not on my Daytona? What would make the change between cars?

The only reason I could imagine would be for pursuit modes where we have to go above the average driving scenerio. As far as testing the program, there are no controls on the streering wheel to find that out. I was just on duty with the charger and believe me, the words on the dash board say ESPOFF. I also tried just holding down the esp button for a long time 7-15 seconds and it worked again. I dont know a thing about the hal or any of that, all I know is the car sins like crazy and it fish tails way to fast.

Hey Guys

I tried to disable ESP process on my 06 R/T and I got the ESP bypass light to come on. I turn the ignition key on and held the ESP button down (at the same time) for 10 seconds and it lite up. It seem to work I could press the ESP button at any time while driving and it seem to have bypass/disable ESP. Also how do you find out what software version you have if you have a plain steeling wheel or no compass. I just have a plain R/T with a sunroof. And by the way I'm a computer network engineer. I might be able to help connect to HAL. If I can't I have some great resource at my work. Hope this helps.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying, but, you can turn off the ESP - to a certain extent - at any time by pressing the button and bringing up the little slippery light thing that says ESP. Problem is this - you can't turn it COMPLETELY off. No one can - at least not us civilians. Apparently, there is something in the police car versions that does allow the police to turn the ESP in their cruisers completely off.

I think you will find that if you hold that button down long enough, the little squiggly, slippery thingy will actually go off, and the ESP will then be enabled, again.

Some of us have tuners whereby we supposedly can turn off about 80% of the ESP, but nothing yet that completely disables it.
