WHAT TYPE OF GAS WE RUNNING?!!

MY DEALER TOLD ME TO RUN 89 MID GRADE FUEL IN MY DAYTONA. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK AND WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING IN YOURS? THOUGHT I WOULD ASK THANKS. LET ME KNOW.

I run 89 octane.

I Knock and Ping on anything higher. With 89 Octane I suffer no preformance decrease and the gas is CHEAPER.

I'm running 91 - programmed for that. But previously, I occasionally ran 87 with no problem.

My dealer said to run 87 in my R/T. I have just the base R/T not the Daytona[X(]. But child support kept that from happening.

You get a knock and ping with higher octane gas I have never heard that before. I always run 93 but I don't know what this knock or ping sounds like.

Sounds like marbles being shaken in a jar really fast. It usually happens after the MDS kicks in areound 30-40 mile per hour and its a hot day. 90-100 degree outside( I live in TX)

I can feel the power difference in the Exxon 93 but it knocks and pings. Right now running 89 exxon and I barely hear it if at all.

I think HAL just needs to work it out, my dealer is a smuck!

I run 87 in my Daytona and there's no knock or ping.

91 octane is 20 to 25 cents higher here anyway. 93 isn't avaialble.

That sounds weird to me, too. I agree - under a load is when you usually hear it - when the timing is advancing. Could it be that some of our machines have their total timing coming in too quickly?
