I was wondering if the weather affected mods very much...i live in ohio, so its going to be around 30-50 degrees for the next few months... and i was about to buy a 180 t-stat and relocate my IAT sensor...is this useless because of the cold weather? or will it still help? (i already have a K&N CAI installed)

Colder air is good for performance and increased HP. Relocating the IAT sensor and changing out the t'stat to a 180 are excellent mods to help performance. Personally, I would wait for Superchips to release their programmer for the 4.7. You have the 4.7, right? Supposedly due out in the next month or two. Check out their website and contact them for update.

these engine love cooler air. if you want and wait on the iat mods go ahead but the 180 stat is the best. i live in ct, were it gets below zero in the winter. what ia am going to do is put the sensor back in its original place for winter and relocate toit the summer spot early in the spring.

ok so even though its cold....go ahead and get the 180 t-stat...but maybe hold off on the relocate? oh and by the way...as soon as winter is over...around february...my truck is coming with me to monteray california where i will be in air force training...in other words... ttsssss hotttt.
i saw that jet chips is now making 180 t-stats for 2005's now...cuz it used to be no one made them and you had to modify another year's. anyways its 46 dollars is that worth it?

Or you can go to NAPA auto parts store get a NAPA Superstat 530080 for $6.99 plus tax. Just need to put the side notch on it with a file. Works just fine. Make sure no air gets trapped in the system.

i live in ellington ct, up near the mass state line. and yes it is easier to buy the napa stat and put the notch in. i took my 180 stat out of my full size and notched it for my 05 4.7. just remember to not ruin the gasket

dammit i bought the jet chip already...i forgot about that notch you can make for yourself. i bet JET is laughing cuz they get these t-stats for 5 bucks then notch them in add 40 bucks to em. grr
