update info on the gps system called navteq

ok here is the scoop .like the other thread said the early version was a 2003 .here is how the numbers work the part number themselves are all the same the important part is the last 2 letters aa was the first 2001 or 2002 then ab 02-03 then ac 03-05 then ad 05-06 then the newest version ae which is currently sold at the website for 199.i hope this helps mine is an ac [>:].......im gonna try going to the stealership and complain .wanna see how it goes ,ill threaten bad reviews at the service dept and see how it goes..i hope this helps.........

hi there everyone my story worked

went in and made up nice story that the bogus dvd nav dvdrom they gave me sent me down the wrong way on a one way street and almost crashed head on ,and i was pissed of they gave me an updated dvd

.......give it a shot especially if you recently bought the car .

Has anyone rec'd the AE disc yet? It is reported to have a firmware update also. Anyone see a difference?

My dealer did not have any, but agreed to provide one for me free of charge. I'll keep you posted. When and if they actually arrive.

NO AE DISK JUST GOT THE AD DISK THE STEALERSHIP ORIGINALLY GAVE ME AN AC DISK ITS THANMKS TO THIS FORUM I EVEN KNEW THE DIFFERENCE I WONDER HOW MANY OTHER UNSUSPECTING SOULS HAVE GOTTEN DUPPED.

Can someone please enlighten me on what the heck an 'AD' disk, an 'AE' disk, and an 'AC' disk are?

My guess is their different disk version numbers.

ok ill say it again its posted at the top of the thread but here goes again the disks all have the same part number 50603334 then there are 2 letters and there are only 5 combos aa ab ac ad ae .AA is the oldest version going back to 2002 maybe even earlier AB 2002-2003 AC 2003 AD 2004-2005 AE 2006 .NOW THE PART NUMBER IS LOCATED ON THE disk case on the top the stealership gave me the AC which was already 3 plus years old then they gave me after my story the ad and swear they dont have the ae in stock so know you can go to www.navteq.com and buy the new 2006 dvd for 199 which will be the 2006 software and a new disk will come out every year next years version will be guess what af . the face of teh cd should say it as well,actually it will say it on the top the year 2002 and so on .example mine now says 2004-2005.so even if the case is gone you can tell by the year on the dvd.
