Default version of software in hal

hi there i realize this was in the other thread but i think this should have its own thread ,my version of hal is 4.7 1 higher then the 4.6 how different are each vesions ,it also seems to me that there is a lot of information there what the heck is it all some screens wher4e easy to figure out speed rpm etc but some where just what the heck is that.?does the superchip or jet chip effect the version of software ? or is it seperate altogether ? becauce if it is a master program that controls it all then it will still control the superchip program or jet chip the only thing that changes is the program that hal reads ?meaning that we need to redo hal if we want better performance example if hal has a predisposition to go slow then all the fast programs in the world wont matter if hal says i dont think so....
