I saw this on another forum, dont know if its been done here, but thought it was a good idea. I thought maybe everyone could add in thier little tips and tricks that they learned about the charger.

:Did you know there's a recessed "handle" to use for closing the trunk lid? It's just to the right (pass. side) of the latch... very handy for keeping those grimy mitts off that shiny paint job. Thanks to my wife for finding this! The trunk latches with very little effort, too -- so take it easy when closing!

:If you have the EVIC option in your car, you can activate the "diagnostics" mode by holding both the COMPASS and MUSIC NOTE buttons down together for 6 seconds anytime the key is in the ON position (engine running/car moving or even engine off). Cycle through the series of various displays (such as a COOL large-font digital speedo) using the up/down arrow switch on the left of the steering wheel. It's a great way to keep tabs on how the car is operating during those long trips. To get back to the normal EVIC operation, press the COMPASS switch again.

:The factory oil filters have been installed by a 900 lb. gorilla with a 30" wrench! They are VERY difficult to remove. You might want to consider having the first oil change done by the dealer, even if you do it yourself every other time! And if you have the Hemi, INSIST on 5W20 oil.

:There's a way to disable the seat belt reminder chime:
1. With the ignition switch in any position except On or Start, buckle the driver side front seat belt.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the On position and wait for the seatbelt indicator reminder function to conclude (about six seconds).

3. Unbuckle and buckle the driver side front seat belt three or more times, ending with the belt buckled.

4. Turn the ignition switch to any position except On or Start to toggle the beltminder feature from its current setting (from active to inactive, or from inactive to active). A single chime tone will provide an audible confirmation that the programming sequence has been successfully completed.

:To make the cigarette lighter connector be "hot" even with the car off go to the Fuse Box in your trunk and open it. (It's located in the spare tire well.) When you open the fuse box, look on the inside of the lid and you will see a numbered layout of the fuses. Look for Fuse #18 wih the letters "IGN" (Ignition) printed on the plastic right below it. It will be a bright yellow 20-amp fuse that is offset from the other 4 or 5 in it's row. Unplug it, and plug it into the the first two holes so that it is in line with the rest of the fuses in that little row (undo its offset). Now your cigarette lighter in the ashtray will be powered at all times. The best part about this fuse, is that when you place it in the "Always On" block, it frees up an accessory connection that you can use for a "Remote Wire" connection for something like an amplifier since there isn't one comming off of the head unit on our stock radios.

:A cluster diagnostic can sometimes reset your dash gauges if they're not working properly: Press and hold the trip meter reset then turn the key to "ON"; the gauges will step through the whole range. If your gauge is acting funny, this is an easy way to see if it's the sender or the gauge.

:Have you noticed that the front passenger seat doesn't go as far back as the driver's seat? It turns out there are black plastic clips on the adjuster rails that block the seat's movement as far back as the driver's side. They pop right off, allowing the seat to travel back farther. Move the passenger side seat all the way forward.
Go in the back, and find the loooong screws / rails that the seat traverses on (they look like long, silver screws). At the back of each screw is a black plastic clip (it's loose, and can be moved around).

Just some things I found interesting, please keep this going and add your own findings to the list.

khurst,

There is a way, and it is posted by Dodgegirl67. I haven't done it because I haven't needed to, however, it is a easy fix for those that need it.

Something like, key on, pressing accelerator to the floor slowly, and back up and turning off car and restarting is supposed to be better. Look back a few weeks for her name and you should find it -- don't follow my directions, I can't remember what I had for breakfast .

Appearently, it works!

Thanks for the tips, I just got my charger and was wondering about the extra 12v feed you mentioned. I want one so I can hardwire my radar detector and it seems inpossible to get a wire from the fuse box to the uderside of the inside dash? I was thinking I could jumper off the cig lighter connection but would rather have a direct connection to the fuse box, any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks for the tips especially witht the EVIC. Which brings me to my question....I understand the basic info the system shows in diagnostic mode, the compass and tach, speedo oil and engine temp even the average and raw temps. But what are the other readings showing me? What is the MinL and MinR showing and the VMM and so on. It looks very impressive and it would be more so when I know what it means. I also read something about a 0-60 clock in this mode...it this true? Thanks for help....

MinL & R: values are values used to dampen needle movement as the fuel sloshes around.

VMM: Version of the vechicle module.

Thanks MangoInTX I knew you would know this stuff....You Da Man  Any Idea what the other screens show. If it wasn't a 113 degrees at  5pm pdt out here I would be more specific with the actual displays. Example I recal a reading that had a g, mine happens to show 19, next to it and also an H. Is there a link I can be directed to that would have this information?  Yea it's really 113  with 25 % humitity out here, earlier it was 115.6 ouch BTW  I'm 30 miles east of Los Angeles

If you need more info on all of the displays you can go to http://www.****.com/board/showthread.php?t=11326 and find it all.  I found that thread and it was very informative.

Sorry about that. I copied and pasted the link so I don't know why it came across with *** so I will try again.

http://www.****.com/board/showthread.php?t=11326

Well I just previewed it and see the ***.  So replace *** with l x f o r u m s
but without the spaces.  For some reason if I type that name (****) it makes ***

Does anyone know if its possible to get EVIC installed somehow on my Charger? I have a regular R/T 07. If so, is it expensive, do I have to go to the dealer?
