Thank you very much lil, you're the best! I bought a '98 Dakota 5.2l new from the dealer and after about 6 months I started taking it back complaining about the transmission... usually just got a pat on the head and they'd say they would take care of it, or it was just clutch fan noise, or my imagination, or all of the above. A couple years ago took it to a local transmission shop, they were 'sposed to rebuild it. Worked great for a few months, then started slippin' again. Brought it back a several times after that, and they would replace this or that sensor (no charge) same story, run good for a couple months then start slippin. (I don't think they knew what they were doin')
I guess if you want something done right, ya gotta do it yourself. Or, at least, knowledge is power.
