Default just installed jba exaust

hi there just got my jba exaust installed it is awesome ,sound is great the its throaty but not overly obnoxsious the drone is realy dependent on how much you gun it at idle its deep but not ridiculous you can hold a normal conversation at normal tone and still hear the rumble in the car which to me sounds like a musical......as the drone really only exists upto about 2 thousand rpm again depending on how fast its gunned....as far as the power and torque are concerned its absolutley noticable its like a new car .. .i feel in love again when i turned it on.now for the install info it will take 5-6 hours to remove the headers easy.the rest of the exaust in under an hour .the only problem i ran into and for anyone that has installed there headers the bracket that holds the dip stick the bolt is to short to fit in ,am i doing it wrong or is there a trick to it ,ive got a tie wrap holding it in place ,my worst case scenario is to make a bracket but id rather not any ideas .p.s next project is the hood then the tires .

Default RE: just installed jba exaust

Two possible reasons:
1. The dip stick tube was bent, bend it back
2. The studed bolt was installed in the wrong bolt hole, swap that bolt either up or down one hole.

Glad your enjoying the mods!

<Edit> I should elaborate; the dip stick tube has a bracket with a notch that goes onto a studded header bolt (see pic, the bolt on the left has the stud and the right is a normal bolt). This is the only OEM header bolt that is reinstalled; a shim is included with all header kits that I have seen because the flange of the aftermarket header is much thinner than the OEM manifold.

Once the nut is taken off the stud the dip stick tube is loose and can be pulled out of the block. Once loose it’s a major irritation twisting and wiggling it out of the engine compartment. The same irritation revisited getting it back into the engine compartment and block. I always have choice four letter words for this particular part of the install.

I would bet the tube isn’t bent but the studded bolt wasn’t instilled into the right hole. <end edit>
