Default Ziebart yes or no??

I am tempted to rustproof my new DAK 2006 with 600 miles on it. There is a special now undercoating for 169.00 at Ziebart and extra for the top end. so 350.00 for the total job. I thought Dodge has a 100K rustproof warranty anyway. I told this to Ziebart and he says to read the fine print on the warranty, he says the warranty is invalid on States that use salt in the winter??--I am in CNY and we use a lot of salt. Is he giving me the business??

PS--Where are the bad areas on the truck most prone to rust??
Thanks for any comments!!

Stash,

I got my 2005 Dakota undercoated when I first bought it. If you are in a highly corrosive environment (lots of road salt in winter) it could help prevent premature rust. I got my truck undercoated and doors rust-proofed for about $200.00. Do a little research around your area, you may get a better deal. Just be ready for your new truck to smell like tar and drip like it's melting for about 3-4 days.

I had mine done by the dealer. What a mistake! I had the so-called protection package done that included a paint seal and interior protection as well as the undercoating. I had to take it back because they missed so much under the truck. Hell they didn’t even remove the spare to spray the coating. Typical DC dealer crap. I would have had Z-Bart do mine but they are no longer are doing business in Florida.
