Road and Track package

Hey everyone,
I know that the Daytona charger has 10 more horsepower than the R/T, but I was wondering if the R/T with the Road and Track package has the extra horsepower as well. Some one said that the R/T with the Road and Track was basically the Daytona with out the front lip, spoiler, and decals. Has anyone else heard this, or is it just bull.

According to Dodge, the Daytonas are specifically made with the whooping 10 added HP, in their intake and exhaust tuning.

If someone tells you their standard R/T has the 10 more HP, THAT is bull.

Now, this is directly off the Dodge site.

mnboy right.

But if you take a R/T and replaced the OEM intake and exhaust, like a lot of us have done, their equal. I don't think the speed limiter the same on the R/T and Daytona so that also indicates at least this paramater in the PCM is different. SuperChips washes that difference away.

So then what exactly does the Road and Track package give you over the regular R/T.

I would go to the Dodge.com site and click between the different models. Lots of info there.

The road and track package is basicly the daytona with out the decals. And yes it has 10 extra Hp. A black r/t with the road and track package is what I've been looking at getting.

Prove it. Or quit posting hearsay and believing rumors.

Sorry, but Dodge list the R/T with the Road & Track package with the same HP as the DAYTONA

You also get the Nivomats self leveling rear shocks with the R/T performance pkg.

IslandCharger,
There are other sources that indicate the R/T is NOT the Daytona. I know there is alot of misinformation, and several posters have believed hearsay, however, the Daytona model has 10 more HP than the standard Charger R/T. The Dodge.com also lists the Daytona as having 10 more HP on the site in other places. Still, not a believer? Ok. According to Dodge, the reason it has 10 more HP is because of the exhaust system.

They exhaust system in the Daytona is different than the exhaust system in the R/T, allowing the Daytona to breathe better, allowing more HP.

Go to a dealership and order a R/T exhaust, the assembly # is 4581868AI for $590.

The Daytona exhuast is assembly # 4578392AD for $740.

Also, a poster stated (I'll get the name and let you know, they have the R/T) stated they cut off the resonator and put a light to the end... they could not see the light. In the Daytona, I could even see the bulb.

The Daytona's exhaust is more open, allows more flow, and gives the Daytona, just like Dodge says, 10 more HP.

I agree with you mnboy. But the Charger R/T with the added road and track package is sold as the same hp as the Daytona. My ride sold as a 06 Charger R/T, with 340 hp. My friends 06 Charger R/T with the added road and track package has 350 hp.

mnboy -> RE: Road and Track package (8/10/2006 5:11:08 PM)

I thought the "added" R/T package is the Charger R/T. What is the added added R/T package? Do they put the Daytona system on it? Otherwise, it has 340 HP. IF they are selling them saying 350HP, without the better Daytona exhaust from the factory, they are wrong to say that.

I belive the road and track package was the (Seat's/ the same exhaust as the daytona and the suspension). and he showed me the window sticker to prove he had the add 10 hp. So I showed him the back of my R/T at about 133, with my add on's.

mnboy -> RE: Road and Track package (8/10/2006 5:42:13 PM)

I'm not trying to be a snot here. I am easy to get along with until my BS METER starts flashing. It's flashing.

The numbers I posted are from the Charger R/T package. It does not have the Daytona exhaust. If it was added afterwards, it is not stock, thereby, we are not talking apples and apples. If it is being sold as a 350HP package, then a dealer has his head up his exhaust...

Your Charger R/T has 340 HP according to all I can factually see. Not BS. After stock, we change them and all is out the window.

But the original question was about if the Charger R/T has the same HP as the Daytona. No it does not.
