Hey everyone, I know that the Daytona charger has 10 more horsepower than the R/T, but I was wondering if the R/T with the Road and Track package has the extra horsepower as well. Some one said that the R/T with the Road and Track was basically the Daytona with out the front lip, spoiler, and decals. Has anyone else heard this, or is it just bull.

mnboy right. But if you take a R/T and replaced the OEM intake and exhaust, like a lot of us have done, their equal. I don't think the speed limiter the same on the R/T and Daytona so that also indicates at least this paramater in the PCM is different. SuperChips washes that difference away.

So then what exactly does the Road and Track package give you over the regular R/T.

The road and track package is basicly the daytona with out the decals. And yes it has 10 extra Hp. A black r/t with the road and track package is what I've been looking at getting.

IslandCharger, There are other sources that indicate the R/T is NOT the Daytona. I know there is alot of misinformation, and several posters have believed hearsay, however, the Daytona model has 10 more HP than the standard Charger R/T. The Dodge.com also lists the Daytona as having 10 more HP on the site in other places. Still, not a believer? Ok. According to Dodge, the reason it has 10 more HP is because of the exhaust system. They exhaust system in the Daytona is different than the exhaust system in the R/T, allowing the Daytona to breathe better, allowing more HP. Go to a dealership and order a R/T exhaust, the assembly # is 4581868AI for $590. The Daytona exhuast is assembly # 4578392AD for $740. Also, a poster stated (I'll get the name and let you know, they have the R/T) stated they cut off the resonator and put a light to the end... they could not see the light. In the Daytona, I could even see the bulb. The Daytona's exhaust is more open, allows more flow, and gives the Daytona, just like Dodge says, 10 more HP. MN
