how do you remove them

u can go to autozone or advanced autoparts and they will put new ones on for free, of course you have to buy the wiper blades lol

On my 89, I prefer to take the whole arm off to change them. To accomplish that:
Pull the wiper arm away from the window.
While holding it away, pull the tab at the base out.
Release pressure on the blade and it will keep the tab locked out.
Just lift the whole assy off the spindle.



Then if you have just the blade, pull one end of the old blade free and pull it thru the slots and install a new one.
If you have the blade assy., pull and hold this small tab down(towards the blade):

The assy will come off as shown. You may have to wiggle it as the piece the tab is on can move within the blade assy.:

The new assy. should just push on.
If the tab assy. comes out, it goes in like this:

thank you for the detail you covered what i need with little info im sorry for not posting that i ment i need to take the arm off for repair did you just use a flat blade to pry the tab out

You are welcome. The tabs on mine will pull out by hand when the arm is held to it's full back position. A flat tip screwdriver should work fine if they are a little sticky.

thanks turn out the problem is deeper i think it is the linkage to the motor that is cause ing the problem i did the quick fix of putting the wipper back on set a lil high so it want hit
