Ok so I was looking into geting a hypertech programer then I was talked into a custom flash then I decided to wait with most of that tell my warrenty goes away in about 1.5 years then do more upgrades. but after looking at this site I found this to be really cool HyperPac Performance Computer its prety much the hypertech programer stage 3 but its does a hell of a lot more when it comes to what your car is doing.. at lest thats how it sounds..

So PlEAse take a look see what you think. it seems a little pricey but is it worth it? I thought it seemed prety bad ass but then again I think a lot of things are prety bad ass..[sm=badbadbad.gif]. thanks for coments.. JP

I find the HP increase by making adjustments to the computer alone very hard to swallow. I mean, the charts show that HP is nearly in the 290-300 HP range. Seriously doubt tweaking a computer can increase that much HP. Torque increase sounds reasonable.

Check out this link where Dodge came out with a limited edition modified 2003 Dakota R/T with a tweaked out 5.9 making over 300 HP with no induction. Basically DCX just added all the performance addon's that you normally get from mopar.com as factory. They came this modified R/T ran better numbers than the big brother Hemi Rams. Total cost of addon's for 50 HP increase is over $3k from factory.

I just wished they made these same modifications for the 2003 Durango R/T's on that year. I would definatley swap R/T's.

Sounds far feched to me. Changing just the computer setting won't do that much horse power.

It just sounds too good to be true to pay a few hundred bucks and get a big HP increase. You would either think that Dodge intentionally built their engines way too underpowered or something is wrong with the engine designed that an aftermarket would correct. Mostly, both of these statements would not be true so that particular programmer may not be making a true statement. I think the Hypertech programmer III stated that it can get you up to 15-20 HP more. This statement would be more precise and attainable than a 40-50 HP increase if you are only tweaking the PCM and nothing else.

I have been around performance engines for a while back in the non computer days and you learn what performance part addon's can give some real world boost in power. But we are talking about actual hardware upgrades such as those mentioned in the modified dakota. Tweaking computers just try to maximize the efficiency and power of the current hardware stock or nonstock used on the engine.
