Default Yet another exhaust question

I got under my truck today and was looking around planning how to install my glasspack. I had my tape measure out and was measuring stuff, seeing where hangars were, etc. That's when I finally noticed... the stock muffler is not a center in/out muffler! D'oh! I was hoping to just slipfit the 'pack in the stock location and maybe do some hangar magic and be done with it. Now I'm not so sure. I really don't want to start hacking up the catback and adding extensions here and there. I'm thinking there has to be a way to slipfit the 'pack with a slight angle (that's my first option).

My question is this: For those of you who just installed aftermarket mufflers did you go with a offset muffler in the stock location or did you go with a center in/out and put it somewhere else? And those of who went to a shop for your muffler install don't bother suggesting that.

I'm just bummin' because I thought it was going to take me an hour today, and instead I have hold off while I think this over.

Default RE: Yet another exhaust question

You'll have to cut the factory muffler out anyway, so my suggestion is to hack out the old and take it and the new one into a shop and see if they can't weld angled ends on the glasspack to match the in/out of the old, then take it home and bolt it up.
