Has anyone removed the side moldings yet? I havent, but have seen pics wow it looks reall good.Aside the fear of getting a door ding without them on,I would probably remove mine .

I'll post some pics.

If you decide to do de-spear or de-badge just use a heat gun (hot air blower) or just let the car bake in the summer sun for a while. Those badges and side spears will peal right off. Go back with "goof off" or chemical of choice to get the sticky stuff off. Remember you'll may need to clay/wax where the spears were.

No dings on my car yet (knock...knock).

Naked Mango... I was in the middle of fitting the hood when these were snapped, please disregard the hood alignment.

WOW! Really gives it a whole different look, I think. Very, very nice - smooth and clean. Lets your eye focus more on the hood - very nice hood, Randall. Heck, I'm trying to justify (to myself) spending the money on a rear spoiler .

dave

PS: You got a nice shine on that baby!

It was in the winter time so I had to use a Heat gun. Where I'm at with this summer heat just let it bake outside for a little while would probably do the trick. Try not to use anything to hurry the process (ie plastic scraper...) it will scratch the paint.

On the spears w/heat gun: Heat up one end until you can pull it away from the body. Once started just keep pulling w/gental pressure while heating ahead of where it's already been pulled up. Wear gloves so you hand doesn't get toasted.

I bet if you've parked in the summer sun for a while the spear will just pull right off.

<Edit> If you use a heat gun try to focus the heat on the spear or badge being removed not on the surface below. Once done use something to clean the adhesive residue off the car. I used Goof Off but others have used Zippo lighter fluid, Goo Gone and WD-40. Then, wash the area again, use a clay bar, cleaner wax, or whatever method you choose to do for cleaning and apply some wax.

If you do the spears don't be alarmed if you see ghosting (lighter paint) under the spears, some people including myself have reported this. The clay or cleaner wax will take care if this. <end edit>

On the hood, check out KarleysDAD post #7 on this thread, It's the same hood but not sure if that intake is RAMAirHood's or vented to OEM airbox.
