Default PLEASE help with 1990 Daytona Doors

Hello everyone. I have a problem that drive me nuts. I have 1990 daytona and I can't open doors from outside, but they open perfectly from the inside. I know some cars have this problem when they get older because the body gets difformed, but I do not think this is the issue because they open from the inside really easy.

Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated!

Does the outside latch move very easily?
You should take off the interior door panel and make sure the actuating rods for the door are all connected and working properly on the outside handle.

Yes, it moves easily. I will take the door panel out and I will see what is going on there. But is it common Daytona problem? Thanks for replying!

During the winters the door latch (the part that goes onto the striker) would freeze on my '89 and I would have to slam the door a bunch of times to get the door to stay shut. It would just bounce off the the striker and not latch properly, even after I lubed everything and took it apart and put it back together. I guess after 15 years stuff like this is bound to happen.

Thanks. I will post a reply when I find out what is going on. My doors do not open at all, I have to jump through the trunk )) That sucks a lot, hit my head pretty bad onse. Anyways, next week I will see what is going on with the doors and will post it here, so maybe you guys will be able to fix yours. Also, I can't find door parts for Daytona on ebay, are there any equivalent parts? Looks like Laser has equivalent parts, but I do not know how about doors...

I bought my 90 Daytona a couple years ago, and it had the same problem with the driver's door. What you need to do is remove the door panel (you will also need to peel away the plastic if it's still intact), locate where the actuating rod (the rod that goes from the outside handle to the latch) connects to the door latch, loosen the bolt that holds it to the latch, slide the rod down, then tighten the bolt, thus, in a sense, taking out the slack of the actuating rod. What has happend is the bolt has loosened from use, has slid a bit, and is not opening the latch far enought to release the door.
