Excuse me for "yelling", but I gotta tell ya'll about this.

I had the front end alignment checked and the wheels were really toed in; that was fixed.

Then, yesterday, I had a new set of Goodyear ComforTred tires put on. MAN! With the alignment fixed and the new tires, she now tracks straight and true. Virtually all of the shock I was experiencing through the steering wheel is gone - none of that wobbling feeling. The car rides much, much smoother, and is quieter to boot.

And, to top it all off, the Ford tech that worked on it and took it for a test drive after the new tires were installed, said the car is a BEAST! He said it was more fun to drive than the Cobra they had on their show room floor.

Chalk another one up for the Charger, guys and gals!!!

dave

[Edit]: By the way, the tire sensor light does NOT come on now, either. And they have the correct air pressure in them - didn't have to lower it. I got a few things to tell my dealer when I get there!

I would complain to the General Manger at your dealer. You were ready to sell you car because the dealer couldnt offer any help and the only assitance you received was from a Ford dealer.

Glad you kept her!!!!

I agree.....I would absolutely lay into the General Manager.....and while you wont get Dodge or the dealer to pay for the tires...I'd make them pay for anything you can get them to pay for.....

Glad to hear the tires and the alignment fixed your issues. I know the tires play a HUGE factor on these LX cars with the Hemi's.....so I'm glad that you changed those out.

This IS good news. I thought I heard a "yipee" from the southwest the other day...

I'd certainly go see the GM, but I'd also write a letter to the big office. I think they need to know. This was an accident that didn't happen. I'd even fire off one to the tire manufacture that you had problems with. I'd even post an opinion a Tire Rack.

Glad to hear things are good Dave.

MN - thanks very much. I am doing a little research on the subject - want to go in with as much ammo as I can, if ya know what I mean. I still feel that the steering is not as "tight" as it should be, but it is worlds better.
