take the 4.7 and stroke the snot out of it. forget the bull engine swap, waste of time and money, plus you will need all the computer hardware and wiring.

ITS CUMMINS, NOT CUMMINGS!! Now with that out of the way, Jimbo: I would look into a Cummins 4BT swap, much smaller and the swap is very common in jeeps and toyotas, and will put out quite a bit of torque and get 30 mpg. You can find them cheap and easily as well, just look for an old frito lay truck or something of the sort, and well, there ya go.

I was under the impression the 4BT was quite a heavy engine. Wonder how our crap suspensions up front would handle that...

That was my thought at first, but most jeeps are solid axle, and ours is axle-less mush
