Default Should Dodge build a hybrid?

I wanna go with the TurboDiesel/ Electric Hybrid System. The 3 cylinder TurboDiesel will do the lower RPM torque stuff, and then it'll turn off and switch to the higher RPM electric motor. What do you think Dodge should make?

POLL FIXED

If you hadnt screwed up the poll tardo I would of voted on something. It wouldnt hurt Chrysler sales to build one but I dont belive they would sell to well. I mean look the caliber was a complete flop.

Worst then the Escape Hybrid ... why buying a big truck hybrid .. if you want a big truck get a big engine, if you want a hybrid, get a Prius

Imagine a 30 mpg suv that could fit 8 people, not something a prius could do.

i know that they are offering alternative fuel vehicles soon...

the flexfuel lineup will include the commander, grand cherokee, ram, durango, dakota, (all 4.7), sebring sedan and vert (2.7), and the minivans (3.3).

ya maybe the prius couldnt do that but if you want to get a 30mpg heavy weight durango with 8 peoples in it ... you need a pretty good 'hybrid'e engine

A hybrid vehicle uses the same gas engine the regular one does, but it has electric motors to assist it. In some cases, a hybrid is faster than a regular gas car.

In what case is a hybrid (thats in production) faster than its regular model? The Escape hybrid does the 0-60 in 14.5, the Civic Hybrid does the quarter in 18.8 (regular civic is 17.3), and the Prius is at 18.0. At the moment, there arent any hybrids in production that are faster than their all gas siblings...if you were interested in speed, you wouldnt be buying a hybrid.
