I went with my son down to Buffalo, MN and had his 2003 ZO6 Corvette tuned by a specialist performance shop -- they put it on the dyno, ran it, looked at the computer, told us we were lean on top, then plugged in their ECU changing program, dyno ran it again, adjusted that, and then a dyno run again. He looks up and says 13 more rear HP, more TQ, and much better overall performance - and it will run cooler too. And it DID. Smoooth and silky and when you HIT IT your head better be on the headrest. For the $400 for the session I was thinking a bit much, but the car was an absolute blast. My story is here because nowadays ALOT of the performance is in the software. Five years ago, I would have laughed at you, with my big 440 Hurst 4 speed Plymouth GTX, but not now. I read consistantly the posters here moan and groan about the Superchips not being retained in the ECU, or rev limiter, or shift points too low, or engine revs too low under full throttle, well, I mean, if I had $400 now, I wouldn't buy a Superchips. I have the Jet 2 chip, and I'm sure it's NOT the end all either. Yes, I am a newbee to this computerized stuff and am old school, but I am mechanical and can/want to understand this stuff. Are we just too new (infancy) with these cars? Does someone out there REALLY have a stout ECU program? My son now has this electronic fuel map system in his STi so he can go from normal to Godzilla performance with a flip of the switch. But I don't want to spend laptop costs for just a few tenths or a touch more HP. Just WHO has the best programming out there to get these cars to top performance for our Hemi motor and transmission? Come on. I want 15 more to the rear, more TQ, shift points that red line, rev limiter at 6 grand, and 30 MPG... well, you know what I'm saying here...

Hey Dave, I know I have read many of your comments about the SuperChip. All this stuff must be just to new. But the engine's been out in a truck for years... Yes, my son's ECU stayed until we traded it off for his STi and not a lick of trouble. Made that car perfect I thought. In fact, it was a bit scary... TO BALDYLOXS (post below): Hi Baldy, Are you one of the few or one of the many that the ECU holds the program? Why do you think so many loose their programming? Glad you don't have trouble. PS -- Did the S/C really give you what you wanted?

I think the tech. is new on the Charger, the ESP,MDS is probably why we arent seeing anyone else making a tuner for the things yet.I am not haveing any problem at all with it holding the tune .

Sure. After I put the truck program into my car it suddenly wants 4x4 stickers all over it, long CD antennas on the mirrors, blacked out windows with my name across the back, broken loud pipes, a winch, half bald oversized tires, stickers of a kid peeing on other makes, will drop 50% in milage, and want me to wife beater t-shirts and a goofy hat, and wants to go play in the dirt... HEY, EASY! I AM JUST KIDDING HERE. REALLY! But, if I got Dodgegirl to ride with me, I just might....
