Default installing power steering pump pulley

yea, i pretty much said it all in the subject. I've dropped the pump completely out(due to lack of space) to put on the new pulley. Put the new pulley on. Now i can't get it to fit back into the spot it was in. Note that the previous pulley was broken, so it was smaller taking it out than putting it in. My question is whats the best way to go about putting it back on. any suggestions are much appreciated

Take the support bracket off, put it on the support bracket, and see if that helps, I think the pulley is supposed to go on the pump, with the support bracket attached...

Jack the front of the car up and the pump will go in behind the lower A-Arm. That's how I put my pump on my 85. Another person will come in handy to reach down from the top to grab it so it doesn't bean you in the head if you drop it...

On your third one???

I'll check on a metal pulley, and I'll let you know if I find one. I know a guy who custom makes pulleys.

the only way you can put em on really is to bang it on with a hammer, or use the pulley pusher, both which has a high possibility of breaking
the pulley

Why not just go to a machine shop and have them use a arbor press to install the new pulley? That is what a shop manual is used for you know, and the last time I did this, it cost me a total of $5.00 to put the new one on, it sounds like you have spent more than that in pulleys!
