I am having a problem with my 2005 Dakota SLT 4x4. I seem to be getting very little satisfaction from my local dodge dealer. I bought the vehicle used with around 16000 miles. I bought it from a reputable used car dealer, it was a off lease vehicle in very good condition. I have never been a Dodge fan, I always had GM trucks, and they treated me fine. I liked the body style of the Dakota, and I heard that customer satisfaction was very high with Dodge products, and besides it had the balance of the factory warrenty. Well I had a problem with a bumping in my suspention and that was resolved. About a month and a half ago I had six fifty pound bags of sand in the bed, I was going to drop it off behind my house at my daughter's sandbox. I have a good amount of land around my home and the back of the home sits on a uphill grade of maybe thirty degrees at the steepest. I put the truck in four wheel drive so I wouldnt rip up the grass, backed up to the grade and suddenly the truck acted like the emergency brake was on, it would not go up, so I went forward and tried again, and again as soon as I started to aproach the grade it felt like the emergency brake was engaged. I tried it in four low and made it no problem, even two wheel drive was'nt a problem untill the wheels started to spin, it was only four high. I brought it to the dealer and they said they had to flash the OBC and reset it, and it should now work fine. and it did for about two weeks, after that I had the same problem dropping off a load of wood at a friends house, same thing trying to back up a small grade with a small load of wood, the truck would not go as soon as it started up the grade, it felt like the emergency break was on. So I took it back to the dealer and they did the same thing, flashed the OBC, again they said it was working fine. They also said basically, that this is the way the truck was going to be, that it was holding the flash now, but if it happens again they cant do anything about it, they said that the would do more research into the problem, well the problem now has happenend again and I have not heard from my dealer. So I guess they did all they could do and I have a truck that wont go reverse in four wheel drive up small hills. I think they said that to appease me. I dont have much faith in that dealer, and Im loosing faith in Dodge products. Anyone else have this kind of problem, or know whats going on?
